St. Mary's Home for Disabled Children
St. Mary’s is the only pediatric long-term care residential facility of its kind in Virginia for children with severe disabilities. It offers a comprehensive range of residential, medical, therapeutic, educational and recreational services for children from birth to age 21.

College and University Internships – St. Mary’s works with area colleges and universities to establish internship and practicum opportunities and has a program in place for students who can dedicate 100 hours or more during a semester.
Interaction with Residents – After training, volunteers spend time with residents providing companionship and interaction.
Other Opportunities – Additionally, community groups and individuals help with everything from the upkeep of grounds and courtyard areas to volunteering at the special events such as the annual 5k run.
