Youth Activities At A Glance

Below is a list and explanation of opportunities for youth actively involved in the Bayside Youth Ministry and Preteen Ministry.

****************** Weekly Assemblies *********************

These assemblies meet weekly during Bible class times.

THE SOURCE
Sunday Mornings we get together as a Youth Ministry for a time of worship.

Wednesday Night Youth Growth Groups.
A small group Bible study for High School students which digs a little deeper into lessons presented during THE SOURCE.

BIBLE INSTITUTE
A preteen class held Sunday mornings and designed to strengthen Bible knowledge.

KIDS CONNECTION
Kids Connection is the Wednesday night offering for children, ages 2 1/2 years to 6th grade. Kickoff begins at 7:00 p.m. with songs and a short puppet skit. Then we break into Discovery Groups and rotate through three activities designed to reach and teach our young children. Older students take an active role in teaching and mentoring the younger ones and end the evening with their own time of reflection on the night’s topic.

Activities and Service Projects are offered and held based on student sign up and adult chaperone volunteer sign up.

Service Projects
From time to opportunities and projects arise for the teens that we take on in order to serve our Church family and our community.

Lads to Leaders and Leaderettes year round events and Convention
Click the link in the right column for more details. The annual convention is held over Easter weekend in Orlando, Florida and participant in this event range in age from 1st Grade – Adults.

Spring Retreat
This retreat provides an opportunity for growth in unity and faith and takes advantage of the spring weather.

30-Hour Famine
Facilitated by World Vision, the 30-Hour Famine give our teens an chance to see what it is like to go hungry for 30-hours. Combined with a Lock-In to help distract their appetites, this event raised money for starving people all of the the world.

IMPACT @ Lipscomb University
A camp hosted by Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. There is a session for Middle School and for High School.

Sr. High School Mission Trip
A mission trip for 10th – 12th grade students. It varies in location and duration each year.

Jr. High Work Camp
A smaller version of our mission trip done locally for our 7th – 9th grade students to have an opportunity to spend the week in ministry.

Camp Idlewild
A Christian Church camp experience in July.

Power House
A youth rally hosted by the Fairfax Church of Christ in Fairfax, Virginia. This rally is hosted every other year.
